After my last post to Thumbs Up, I thought to myself "why don't I just finished all the posts for places RCSIII and I went during that trip?" So here goes another one, it's about sweets! (Yes!!!) The two cupcake shops we visited.

The 1st stop was this "Cami Cakes". We came here the day before thanksgiving and it was SUPER busy at the store. The line was long but I'm already used to it. Come on! I'm from Taiwan! Taiwanese people love to wait in line for food for some reason! My record was waited 3 hours for doughnuts when the first Mr. Doughnut opened up in Taiwan. So this is nothing!

The place isn't huge (just like a lot of dessert shop), but the staffs were very friendly (because we are down south?) and the whole store looks clean. I was glad that we had to wait in line so that I can think about what and how many cupcakes I'm going to buy.
We were getting close!!! You can see that they were so busy and didn't even have time to fill up the front table with cupcakes. But they were constantly baking and actually still had all the flavors, but they just have to keep running back and forth to grab them from the kitchen or from the rack in the back.

So I got 7 in total. From the back (left to right): Red Velvet, Red Velvet, Banana Caramel; in the middle (left to right) Pumpkin, salted caramel, Vanilla Chocolate; bottom left corner: lemon drop.

I think 7 may bit too much. (oops!) Since their cupcakes are actually much larger with TONS of frosting! I'll say their cupcakes is about the size you get from Crumbs. The reason I bought 2 red Velvet was that RCSII wanted to try that. He was very amazed to hear the fact that stores can survive just by selling cupcakes.

My favorite was still the Red Velvet, but all of their cakes were pretty moist. ( PASS!) But can I complain about the size? They are way too big for one person! (WHAT!!! Is that ever true?)  My least favorite ones were the lemon drop & the chocolate vanilla. There's nothing too special about them (flavor wise), the was still good in texture.

I think this place is pretty good! If you happened to be in the area, you should give it a try. But be careful not to get too excited because the cakes are big!

After Thanksgiving (black Friday!) plus we were at Atlanta, how can we (me! me! me!) NOT so any shopping? So RCSIII and I came to the Lenox Mall. Before we walk around, we have to fill our stomachs first, right! So we head to the Food Court and found Chick-Fil-A (heeee!!! I love this fast place!). While RCSIII was waiting for the food, I just decided to walk around and found this place just opened and were giving out free samples.  And I spotted the banana pudding flavor! So why not have a little bit dessert after Chick-Fil-A! But after I went crazy at Camicakes 2 days ago, RCSIII only allowed me to get 1 cupcake (tears...since we have more to finish at home + thanksgiving leftover pies...).

After checking out all the available flavors, I went for the banana Pudding cupcake.
It was vanilla cake with banana pudding frosting and topped with a vanilla wafer! It was yummy! RCSIII & I finished it right after our Chick-Fil-A and we both liked it a lot. The cake was moist and just right amount of sweetness! (Surprise!!! I thought in the south they may go crazy with sugar...perhaps just their sweet tea.) The banana flavor was definitely there! A good choice!!! Good job to myself!

Before we leave the food court, I asked them if I can take some pictures of their creations. All of a sudden, they got a but suspicious and  ask me if I own or am going to open a cupcake shop myself. I told them no and this is just for my personal blog, then they agreed to let me do that. They told me that the other day there were people spying on them (maybe trying to copy their cupcake creations) and were filming them from a corner at that food court for a while and they were a bit upset. But for facebook or blogs, they don't mind at all.

People who were there were friendly (again! South!!! hahaha....I think I'll be uber upset if I ever met a person that would just be consider moderately rude anywhere else.) Again, generous size (just like Cami...oh! Is it a southern thing as well?). If you wanted to do some shopping, make sure you come down here and take some home! They are yummy!
