Dinner at 德壽司 (Japanese Sushi Bar)

Oh Man! I haven't updated the blog for so long. I have been really busy with school and job searching. Plus, I was recovering from wisdom tooth surgery and that prevent me from eating real food (oh, so sad.) Thanks to my generous sister, she treated me to this sushi bar after my final dental appointment for wisdon tooth. This place is so good that I had to skipped my Boston trip with RCSIII and write about this first. (I'll go back to the 2 great place I went with RCSIII later.)

This sushi bar is in Taipei, TAIWAN. My sister ordered ~$45 sushi set for my mom. This include 握り寿司10貫 (sushi *10),熱物 (hot side dish, usually grilled fish), 生魚片(Sashimi), 丼飯 (small rice dish), 海鮮沙拉(seafood Salad), 湯 (soup), 甜點/水果 (dessert/fruit).  My sister and I both ordered ~$35 德定食 (德 set), which include 握り寿司10貫 (sushi *10), 海鮮沙拉(seafood Salad), 湯 (soup), 甜點/水果 (dessert/fruit).  My sister ordered my brother in law ~$29 琳定食 (琳 set), which includes 握り寿司8貫 (sushi *8), 海鮮沙拉(seafood Salad), 湯 (soup), 甜點/水果 (dessert/fruit).

The sushi you'll be getting depends on the fresh seafood that the chef purchased earlier that day and the menu changes daily. Unless there's something you don't eat, otherwise, the chef will decided what to serve you.

No matter what set we ordered, they all came with seafood salad but the contents are a bit different. My mom's most expensive set includes additional scallop while others only have octopus and crab meat. The dressing was really light and full of Japanese flavors and the portion was apporate (not too big, not too small).

Here's my mom's Sashimi Plate. The wasabi was freshly ground and it wasn't all that green.
She was generious enough to give me a piece of salmon. (Although salmon is never my favorite when it comes to sushi. It's a relative cheap option and not so delicate.) This one was pretty good with the thinly sliced onions and two different fish textures due to the torched top.
Finally, here comes our 握り寿司.
(Deepwater longtail red snapper)
(cabbage with  soy dipped sushi rice at the bottom and topped with generious portion of crab meat.)

(Chicken grunter )

(scallop burger , this filling is monkfish's liver)

(Oyster)

(Mackerel side cut)

(Australian Wagyu Steak. Almost raw!!!)

(tuna & sea urchin from Canada)

(Sanma from Japan)

( foie gras from France)
(eel)

(some hot grilled fish).
( truffle steak don, the rice dish)

(Geoduck clear soup)
(Red Wine Grape Jelly).
(Melon).

The dining experience was amazing. Super delicious!!! Although the dessert and fruit weren't all that crazy, but this is a sushi place afterall. You should prepare yourself for great seafood, not dessert!

I'd love to come back again. All the seafood were delicious and fresh. It was some really high quality sushi. They took good care of their food, even the soup was cooked to order and was tasted by the chef everythime. If you ever come to Taiwan and crave some Japanese food or simlply seafood, please give this place a try. This place is small, so reservation is perfered!
